We are part of the St. Louis Metropolitan area and within a short drive to all that St. Louis has to offer including the magnificent Arch, Busch Stadium, Ballpark Village, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball (Go Cards!). We are about a half-hour from Six Flags Amusement Park to the east and Meramec Caverns to the west.
WINE & FOOD
Marthasville sits directly on the famous Missouri Weinstrasse, or “Wine Road,” with easy access to many wonderful vineyards and wineries. Be sure to check out Lake Creek Winery for wonderful food, wine, and more. Lost Creek Vineyard is located high on the bluffs above the Missouri River at Marthasville and offers a fine list of award winning wines. Our neighbor, Washington, MO., offers exceptional dining in great restaurants overlooking the river.
Marthasville is very proud to be the last earthly home of the famous pioneer. After living his final years here, Daniel Boone was buried on a small knoll just outside our city limits. The GRAVESITE is open till dusk each day and receives lots of visitors from around the world. While there you can also visit Boone Monument Village and take a tour or book a stay in a historic cabin, tipi, or pre-civil war mansion-house. The Nathan Boone Home where Daniel Boone died while on a visit is in nearby Defiance.
Historic Luxenhaus Farm of Marthasville hosts the very popular Deutsch Country Days every Fall.
ON THE KATY TRAIL
The Katy Trail State Park passes through Marthasville where bikers and hikers enjoy stops to rest, eat or just spend time enjoying the scenic area. Marthasville is only 10 minutes from the riverfront town of Washington, Missouri, where you will find shopping, hotels, and great restaurants.
This historic general store, located along the Katy Trail and the great Missouri River, was first opened more than 120 years ago. Today it is open seasonally on weekends. Bikers and hikers off the trail enjoy stopping in for soda and ice cream or to just sit awhile and enjoy live music in a beautiful rural environment.
Marthasville has lots of summertime activities such as concerts in the park, sports, festivals, and truck & tractor pulls. For great fried chicken or homemade sausage and sauerkraut, catch one of our churches’ all-day dinners, held on a regular basis throughout the year.
For a relaxing weekend “away from it all” or for an extended stay, we invite you to visit historic Marthasville in the beautiful Missouri River Valley. We’re sure you’ll want to come back again.
